

In Columbia, USC produces operas in the Koger Center, and an occasional road show performs opera, also in the Koger Center.Ītlanta has an opera house in its future plans, but the plans for a new Woodruff Center venue for the symphony recently fell through due to frightening costs, and opera houses always cost more than symphony halls.

Atlanta, though, doesn’t have a real opera house, just performing arts halls almost suitable for opera, something like the Koger Center.

In Charlotte they have the Carolina Opera in the Blumenthal Center below the Bank of America tower. During Spoleto, just about every year, Charleston gets a traveling troupe performing opera.
